Hoi An Memories Show

This is the main highlight and the reason why many tourists come to Hoi An Memories Land. Hoi An Memories Show is a large-scale live art show, staged on a 25,000m² outdoor stage with a capacity of about 3,300 seats, in the middle of the Hoai River.

Hoi An Memories Show has no dialogue or narration but uses artistic language through choreography, music, lighting, 3D projection technology and costumes to tell the story of 400 years of Hoi An’s history. More than 500 actors participate in the performance, recreating important moments and cultural values that make up Hoi An today.

The show’s content is divided into 5 acts, each depicting a period or a typical cultural aspect:

• Act 1: Life

Recreates the simple life and customs of the ancient Hoi An residents with images of young women weaving, young men diligently building houses and fishing. This act also contains strong emotions with the image of the road of light, where hundreds of girls in flowing ao dai create a bright future for new life – the image of a baby being born in warm arms.

• Act 2: Wedding

Recreates the wedding of Princess Huyen Tran, who sacrificed herself for the greater good, marrying the Champa King Che Man in exchange for peace and the annexation of Chau O and Chau Ly to Dai Viet. This magnificent performance is not only a splendid wedding but also a profound message about love, sacrifice and the historical, cultural and economic context of the Champa period in Hoi An.

• Act 3: Sea

Depicts the bustling Hoi An port, where ships and boats come and go, trading with Asian and European cultures. This act recreates the prosperity of Hoi An as an international trade center.

• Act 4: Boat & Wharf

Tells about the romantic love, waiting and nostalgia of women whose husbands go to sea or work far away. This is an emotional performance, showing the resilience and loyalty of the people of Hoi An.

• Act 5: Ao Dai

The final and most impressive performance, with hundreds of girls wearing traditional ao dai, creating a colorful scene on stage. This act is a combination of high-class lighting, sound and choreography techniques, bringing an overall picture of the beauty and longevity of Hoi An culture.

The show usually lasts 1 hour, from 20:00 to 21:00 every day (except Tuesday). Visitors should arrive about 15-20 minutes early to get seated and enjoy the show.
